⊆ 21.02 by Mo Hyo Se | ˜ 0 comments »

Chelsea's manager Jose Mourinho became the first man in Britain to get the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe. The Special One said he loves the way “the car answers” and that driving it is a really good feeling. During a glittering event attended by many sports stars, Mourinho was named global F-Type ambassador. Thus he will now drive a brand new £85,000 range-topping R version. Prices for the F-Type Coupe start from £52,000 for the base 3-litre V6 340 HP version.(worldcarfans.com)

In an own goal for taste, Chelsea FC manager Jose ‘Special One’ Mourinho has joined a joint project with tuning firm Mansory and self-styled high society club Raff House to create a new supercar. The finished car, of which just eleven will be made (accept no substitutes) is designed to ‘unite the best of Ferrari and Aston Martin’, according to the promotional literature. A single teaser image has been revealed, showing a carbonfibre-bodied coupe with vertical exhaust outlets and faintly McLaren 12C-esque rear lights. Mourinho is quoted (by the car’s backers) as saying ‘I can see myself driving this car to a big game, adrenaline filling my system, as I’m trying to get to the stadium as soon as possible, wishing for the game to start’.(carmagazine.co.uk)

range rover of chelsea's skipper

England Football Captain John Terry had his car bugged by paparazzi after becoming their number 1 target. The Police checked his Range Rover after being baffled how photographers managed to find him. Police found an electronic device underneath his vehicle which they believe was put there by paps. Nick Freeman told the Court that Terry was concerned about the safety of his children because of the way the paps were driving. He was also concerned to preserve childrens´ privacy. Mr Freeman added he is the UK's number 1 target for the paps and that there had been numerous previous incidents where the paps had turned up at events. This included the first time his twins played in a football match and at a London family trip to a Christmas fair in London's Hyde Park. Terry was caught by Police Officers using a speed gun as he drove to Stamford Bridge ahead of Chelsea's match against Bolton Wanderers. Mr Loophole representing Terry told the Court that Terry already had 7 points on his licence for two previous speeding offences and that he pleaded guilty to this offence. This would ordinarily attract a minimum six month ban. Thanks to Mr Loophole's mitigation, Terry received a disqualification of just 28 days. Terry was sentenced in his absence whist enjoying a holiday with his wife and twins. (nickfreemansolicitors.co.uk)

Footballer Mario Balotelli walked away unhurt from a car crash in his Bentley - just hours after his girlfriend discovered he had a fling with the same prostitute as Wayne Rooney.

Model Raffaella Fico is said to be devastated by the betrayal, with a friend adding that she is ‘not in a good way’ and ‘in pieces’ over the revelations.

The Manchester City star, 21, is said to have met former escort Jennifer Thompson - who had advertised herself as a £1,200-a-night call girl under the name 'Juicy Jeni' - five times and had sex with her twice behind Miss Fico’s back. A friend in her hometown of Cercola, near Naples, said: ‘To say that she is devastated must be the understatement of the year. ‘She can brush off his trips to strip clubs but sleeping with a hooker is in a whole new league. ‘She’s been made to look a fool,’ according to the Mirror.Balotelli's club Manchester City confirmed the 21-year-old was involved in a prang with another vehicle close to Deansgate Locks in Manchester City Centre.

City stated said that Baltoelli was not at fault and was unharmed along with the driver of the other car. According to some reports, Balotelli was driving a white car and was said to be 'shook up' but was unhurt and apparently joked with onlookers. City are growing increasingly concerned over Balotelli's antics.

Earlier on Thursday he revealed that a weight has been lifted from his shoulders following revelations that he had a fling with a prostitute linked to Wayne Rooney.

In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, he added: 'I know I must still learn to keep my private life separate from my profession. It's not easy, but I have taken this step to free me from the weight of this story. 'Recently, I admit, I have been troubled - because of this story, but not only. My natural parents in some interviews have been disrespectful to my family. 'Now that this weight has been lifted, I am certain that I will find the positive energy to make the best run for the title with Manchester City, and prepare in the best way for the European Championship. 'Now that this weight has been lifted, I am certain that I will find the positive energy to make the best run for the title with Manchester City, and prepare in the best way for the European Championship. Cristiano Ronaldo – the guy who came to limelight with a lot of controversial comments recently brought GBP 350,000 (or $700,000) Rolls-Royce Drophead Phantom Coupe. This Portuguese mid fielder bought Rolls-Royce Drophead Phantom Coupe from a luxury Doncaster based cars dealer called Liquid 45. Ronaldo wanted the car to be fully loaded and this means he wanted all kinds of extras inside.

This isn’t the only car of Cristiano. He also has Aston Martin, BMW 6 Series, Bentley Continental & Ferrari. Phantom will be replacing the Bentley Continental which costs GBP 140,000.

It is also said that Ronaldo was really impressed along with Bugatti Veyron; he raced in Nike ad, put the name down on waiting list for about GBP 830,000 (or $1.66M) hyper car. Price isn’t a problem for the famed striker. Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe’s pricetag of GBP 350,000 (or $700,000) would not have deterred this star who is earning about £130,000 a week (or $260,000).

Cristiano Ronaldo has sold Bentley Continental

Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo’s latest car continues his penchant for exotic, high performance cars; Bentley Continental GT Speed. The new car is Ronaldo’s second Bentley Continental, having sold his previous 2007 model for just under £100,000. His blue Bentley Continental GTC Speed went for £114,995, and a 2004 Mercedes C-Class diesel fetched £10,795. The “thrilled” buyers reckon they could be collector’s items after being owned by CR7. He was selling his flash car collection as they are right-hand drive and not suited to Spanish roads. His Porsche 911 Carrera is on sale at £69,995. (thesun.co.uk)

However, opting for the sporty look of a hard-top model, unlike his previous convertible model. The Bentley Continental is one of the ultimate grand tourer coupes, having enjoyed massive development from Bentley’s parent company Volkswagen. However, the car is still British at heart, being hand built at Bentley’s Crewe factory. Whilst some may say the Continental is cheap by Bentley standards, the car is still an expensive car to run, with fuel economy unlikely to break past 20mpg. However few people considering owning the vehicle would be concerned over such matters, the 12 cylinder 6 litre engine of the GT speed delivers a top speed of 202mph, and makes it the fastest production Bentley ever. It is a fitting car for one of the world’s finest footballers to drive, however Ronaldo appears to have his eye on something even more exotic in the future. (dapcars.co.uk)

wolfsburg: deutscher meister

⊆ 21.17 by Mo Hyo Se | ˜ 0 comments »

Going into the last round of fixtures, Wolfsburg simply needed a point to win the title. Carrying a two point lead over 2nd placed Bayern Munich, and a superior goal difference, only a home defeat and a Bayern win would see the championship slip through Wolfsburg's fingers.

However, despite Bayern winning their fixture, the Wolves won the title in style recording a thumping 5-1 victory over UEFA Cup runners up Werder Bremen to bring a first title to their jubilant fans.

Since being formed way back in the thirties as a team for the Volkswagon car manufacturers, Wolfsburg had never won a major trophy before their recent Bundesliga success.

The closest they came was back in 1995 when they reached the German Cup final. On that day they were beaten 3-0 by Bor. Monchengladbach and had since never really looked like challenging for any major honours.

Going into the 2008/09 season, many pundits were predicting that Bayern Munich would not just defend their Bundesliga crown from the previous season, but start a new era of dominance in Germany. Little did they know that the Wolves from the lower Saxony region would completely overpower the reigning champions in every area of the pitch.

The proof of Wolfsburg's power came in April, at the Volkswagon Arena, when the two teams collided in an important top of the table clash. With Bayern struggling for form after the winter break, Wolfsburg were wracking up successive victories and came into the game on top form.

The end result was a whopping 5-1 victory for Wolfsburg, highlighting Bayern's defensive frailties and shyness in front of goal, and proving Wolfsburg's front pairing of Edin Dzeko and Grafite to be the deadliest in the division.

Both sides can look at this as the pivotal moment of their season, as Bayern lost ground in the title race and crashed out of the Champions League in similarly emphatic fashion just a week later, while Wolfsburg had finally given themselves the confidence to go all the way.

The undoubted stars of Wolfsburg's season are the strike partnership of Edin Dzeko and Grafite. Dzeko's 26 goals, added to Grafite's 28, gave the Wolves a significant edge over their rivals as their goal difference went through the roof. Opposition defences simply couldn't handle the pace, power and all round movement of Europe's deadliest combo.

The biggest challenge for Wolfsburg over the summer will be keeping their dynamic duo at the club. There is already big interest in the pair from a multitude of English and Spanish clubs, and there is no doubt that Wolfsburg would be seriously weakened if they lost them.

One change that has already been confirmed is the management position at Wolfsburg. Current boss, Felix Magath, announced he will be leaving the club on July 1st to become the new manager at Bundesliga rivals Schalke. Wolfsburg have acted fast however, as they announced that Armin Veh will take over the reigns in the summer. Veh is no stranger to success himself, as he guided his previous club, Stuttgart, to the Bundesliga title in 2007. Despite Veh coming in to a championship winning side, he will still find his predecessor a hard act to follow. Magath joined the club after a poor season almost saw them relegated, but changed their fortunes to guide them to 5th and 1st in his two seasons.
